I've been in school for two weeks now, and being a junior is weird. It feels like I have more responsibility but more freedom at the same time. So far, we have done a ton of fun activities like the competitions between advisements. We sort of compete for points and the advisment with the most points in the end wins. So far, my advisment, nicknamed the Justice Leage (Due to my advisor being named Joel Justice), are losing. By a lot. On Monday we did a sticky note activity where everyone wrote on sticky notes about the questions we have about the world we live in. At the end of the activity, everyone went around the rooms and picked a few sticky notes that they wanted to further explore. Out of the three I chose, I chose to investigate the question "What can Americans do differently to eliminate the ISIS threat". I am still working on making it a more open question. And so far, that is what I have done. I would say so far, this year feels much much more productive than the past two. I feel like I'm able to focus on the task at hand without much distraction.
